Universal Acceptance (UA) Day 2025
The Universal Acceptance (UA) of domain names and email addresses means all Internet-enabled applications and system are able to input, validate, process, store and display these identifiers, including those in local languages. The Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) in collaboration with EGIGFA is planning a UA Day on 30 April 2025 to raise global awareness of UA.
ABOUT UNIVERSAL ACCEPTANCE DAY
Held annually and organized in collaboration with the community, including the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), UA Day rallies local, regional, and global stakeholders to spread awareness and encourage UA adoption through a mix of virtual, in-person, and hybrid informational and training sessions.
The first UA Day was held on 28 March 2023 and marked the first time a diverse set of technical and language communities, companies, governments, and Domain Name System (DNS) industry stakeholders mobilized to champion UA and a multilingual Internet on a global scale.
UA Day events are open to all relevant organizations and professionals, including ICANN Regional At-Large Organizations, At-Large Structures, Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees, government officials, international organizations, technology experts, open-source communities, standards bodies, email service providers, software and technology developers, web hosting platforms, academics, DNS industry professionals, and language communities.
